Prompts for the Holidaze

There’s this writer thing called “prompts.” It might be a line or two. Or a photo. Just a little something that gets a story going. You put down the prompt and start writing. And roaming. Wherever it inspires you to.

My friend Phil reminded me of an old George Carlin line. I always liked George.  A little sarcastic for my taste. But hey, I’ve lived in New York City almost my entire life. Sarcasm doesn’t bother me. I can even groove to it sometimes.

The piece that follows is prompted by that George Carlin line. It felt somehow appropriate to the season.

And while we’re on the subject, I recommend another piece on this site. David Lerner: One for the Holidaze. It’s in the Memoir Pieces section.

Have a happy…
